Not sure this is a position of need but he definitely has experience running the show for a CMA team. Wasn't a great three point shooter under CMA at Arkansas but he is super fast with the ball in his hands in the open court and loves to make the assist.

Thanks for the insight on this one RR. IMHO unless McGriff is not coming back this is not a position of need. We need a big and secondarily could use another good shooter. Doesn't sound like this kid would fill the shooter need.

Could be a wonderful kid but just don’t need another pg with his skill set right now. We have Dunn, Posh and McGriff at the pg for this upcoming season and another player who plays the same position would be a complete waste of a ship. As has been pointed out numerous times we need a big body up front who wants to board and bang, not shoot threes. The staff knows this much better than any of the arm chair coaches on this board and I am sure they are looking at every possible high school senior, prep player, grad transfer and European player that could fit the bill. The same way they brought in Rutherford to fill a huge need a year ago I am sure they will secure the services of the big man.

If McGriff wasn't coming back it would be fine to have another caddy for Posh. Yes we still need a legit shooter and big man but a vet PG would be good for Posh again provided McGriff isn't around. His numbers look the same as Rutherford.

Nailed it if McGriff doesn't come back this would be a good backup plan potentially.

I appreciated what Rutherford gave to us but I think that might be selling this kid a little short.

From his year under Anderson:
• 7th on the school’s single-season list with 189 assists
• 189 assists are the most in a season by a Razorback sophomore
• 15th in NCAA • 2nd in the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.86) — 189 assists vs 67 turnovers
• 37th in NCAA • 3rd in the SEC in assists per game (5.6)
• 29th in NCAA • 5th in the SEC in total assists (189)
• Had five games with double-digit assists; 18 with at least five
• Had 16 games with 1 or fewer turnovers (seven with zero — nine with just one)

I agree totally that a big or two is certainly the glaring need right now. I just think that whoever gets this kid gets a good point guard, especially if they have shooters to put around him. The only concern I have about McGriff is his small stature. Jalen Harris is 6'2" and would also probably have an edge on McGriff in strenth/physical maturity. Harris is also a very good defender and can get to the basket with ease although he gets in trouble sometimes with over-dribbling kinda like Dunn.

I wasn't trying to sell him short. He obviously did it in the SEC not the NEC or wherever Rutherford played prior. I liked what Rutherford brought to the table and wished CMA staff had him for more than a year. Obviously Harris didn't get the same minutes once CMA left. Again all in all a perfect compliment to a freshman like Posh.

Sounds very reasonable that if CMA started him and trusted him with the ball, that he may follow him here.

I just saw he committed to Georgetown. Not a bad move to go get a free graduate degree from Gtown.
