To to be clear, we aren't #1 in that catagory

www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/sta...avgOffensiveRebounds

1 Portland State 8 128 16.0 170 21.3 298 37.3
2 North Carolina 8 126 15.8 254 31.8 380 47.5
3 St. John's 9 138 15.3 253 28.1 391 43.4
Brown 8 122 15.3 210 26.3 332 41.5

Yes, we have the most total o-rebounds, but that's because of an extra game on everyone else.

Not looking to start anything.

My earlier post stated we were #8 RPG. The stats were updated. We are #3 as you state (the link defaults to RPG). Total Off Rebounds we are still #1.

Let's see how well we do against real competition.

Exactly.

It's a huge game, win tomorrow, get steere back, beat Albany, we'll have momentum heading into the Arizona game.
If we lose tomorrow then it's the same sju team as every other year.

Lets get this damn game tomorrow and show that it's gonna be different under cma.

Only had 2 less total rebounds but 2 more offensive rebounds against WVU. If we keep the rebounding like this each game. Every game in conference play is winnable. Control the glass control the game.

The offensive rebounding performances thus far is a shock to me. I never expected our team to mix it up so well underneath, considering the lack of height. Hope we continue, and improve throughout the season. Steere can only help.

Without just busting your chops, why is it a shock? An old theme for me but why did you and so many others decide what we were or weren’t (and in some cases continuing to) without seeing the players play first, the coaches coach? Many of the greatest rebounders in basketball history did not do it because of height, Bill Russell and Dennis Rodman being among them. But Wes Unseld and Paul Silas did not only give up height but neither could jump a lick. Positioning, timing and especially desire go a LONG way toward rebounding the basketball. Currently, Earlington gives up height and is not a great jumper but his rebounds to minutes played ratio is pretty impressive.

Like I said, lack of size, but also our history. I can't remember when SJU was considered a team that rebounded well. Can you please enlighten me to a past team?
