Couldn't agree more Jack and the kid from Kentucky is a drop dead shooter who will be huge in taking pressure off Barrett. Shot 43% from three and 92% from the line; Calipari loves him. First time in a while I felt Knicks knocked it out of the park in the draft.

I dunno man.
That PG from Iowa State looks special.

Agreed, couldn’t believe the Knicks passed on Halliburton

I usually can't stand this guy, but another stretch 4 is another stretch 4.
Hopefully they got this one right.

Powell, Howard and Alexander all go undrafted.
Bey goes first round and Paul Reed 3 picks from the end are the only BE players taken.

Guards are literally a dime a dozen. While Alexander is 6'4, Powell is listed at 6'1 and Howard 5'11. Why waste a pick on guys like that when you likely can find someone who has proven themselves in the G league against former college stars of even in the better overseas leagues?

Not disputing what you are saying. I know Powell barely shot 40% in college, and at his height, what would that translate to in the pros?

My point was the conference is great from a college standpoint (Yes Newsie it's great as its among the top half of the Big 6 conferences) but the players and the style of basketball are not translating to the NBA. Yes, all 3 are smallish guards which are becoming rarer and rarer in the NBA.

Also since stars and ratings are on everyone's mind here lately.

30 picks in the 1st round last night.
16 were 5 Star recruits
5 were 4 Star recruits
3 were 3 Star recruits (Vassell, Haliburton and Flynn)
2 were 0 Star recruits (Toppin and Bane)
4 were INTL players with no ratings.

The Knicks drafting Obi Toppin was a great pick by the Knicks. The NBA is a pick and roll league and his athleticism and wingspan make him a perfect fit. He will thrive in an NBA style game.

I'd be curious to know how many of those 4 and 5 star recruits were 1 and done. Have to assume the majority of them, just don't have the time to look it up.

I get that Powell is a little small for the NBA and his shooting can be erratic at times, but I know what I’ve seen. That kid is an NBA player. If I was a GM, I’d have been on the phone with him the second the draft was over because I can only imagine the size of the chip on his shoulder.

Powell is another example of how it hurts you in the draft if you are in that late first round , early second round as a junior and you stay in school for your senior year.

Knicks made the right pick.

People who wanted haliburton I implore you to watch some of his tape and I ask you this, is he getting that jumper off in the pros? That low release is going to be easy to guard with the athletes that will be following him around. I just don’t see it
