Back in the day (aka early 2000's) it was Rivals and Scout. ESPN then joined the party and Scout soon fell apart. 247 and Verbal Commits came onto the scene and Rivals is still around but to put it bluntly I think they all suck. Don't get me started on those Crystal Balls........ You used to be able to search by School in a database and it would list all kids being considered. These days the information is so much easier to find but meanwhile none of the sites are any good. I think I went to 247 the other day to see their scholarship chart for SJU and it still has Lovett listed as a SR. I mean I'm not talking about a MAAC school. We're talking about a Power 6 school.

What site do you all use and rely on.

ESPN really took a nose dive when Dave Telep left. Agree that the quality of ESPN/Rivals/Scout etc are pretty low but i'll still browse them along with twitter

Going old school, I used to subscribe to the Prep Stars Handbook
It was a magazine that was published several times each year
Had recruiting information about every school in every major conference
It was a great source of information back in the day
They were pre-internet - they couldn't function in the same format today
They would be publishing yesterday's news today

Another thing that pisses me off about 247/Scout is that when you pull up team rankings and want to sort by conference they have the Power 5 in alpha order, then AAC, CUSA, MAC and Mountain West, and then the balance of the conferences in alpha order. That puts the BE the non Power mid majors. A slap in the face, even though I understand that it's driven by their CFB recruiting site structure.

Now, the crystal balls on the 247 site come with a "confidence level" from 1-10
It seems like an oxymoron to me
Why would you offer a crystal ball prediction if you weren't confident it was true?

I agree in reference to ESPN. It's trash IMO. I usually view Rivals and 247 (in no particular order). Actually, I only periodically go to either site nowadays.
