Well, it wasn't a blow out like last year. The Johnnies played hard untill the end.

I wasn't impressed by either teams offense. Poor shot selection and execution. Providence had the edge in talent and edged out a win.

I was disappointed with CMA's finish at the end. Bringing in Heron cold wasn't a good move. But I can't think of a better option.

LJ and Heron killed us this game. Along with Dunn. Gotta clean up the turnovers and convert when at the rim. Not sure if that’s something that can be corrected or wait till next year. Our defense is salty. But finding a bucket has been hard for now. 12-0 when 70+. 0-6 when below. Tells the story. Terrible shot by LJ and Mustapha today!

It will be tough to watch, but this year is necessary if this team is going to grow in future years. In hockey terms, we have a bunch of 3rd and 4th line players, forced into 1st and 2nd line roles The key for this year is development of the younger players. After the season, CMA and staff need to evaluate them, and determine where their ceiling lies. Things will get better. It’s just not a quick, painless process. (I’ve been waiting 35years).

Crazy idea, but how about trying a bigger lineup when they are in these stretches of not scoring? Maybe Sears and Roberts together, Marcus at the three? At least they could cut down on the other team's offensive rebounds.
Dumber play- Dunn running down the clock or Heron taking a wild 2 pointer?

And last game when Dunn carried us to victory, no one complained every one on this board praised his style of play. It's fairly simple at this point....if we shoot well from outside, we win. If we rebound, we win. We didn't do either one of those things all that well tonight.

Harsh commentary but the NY Post is telling it like it is.

Even with Providence shooting a ghastly 34.3 percent, St. John’s stared at a 31-26 halftime deficit, hardly the way to burst out in search of the first road win of the season. But you shoot like you’re wearing a blindfold, hit the offensive glass like you’re wearing two blindfolds and fail to take care of the ball, you tend to end up on the short end of the score.

But those two offensive boards (yeah, St. John’s didn’t convert the other second chance, either) could not offset the array of nine turnovers the Red Storm unleashed before halftime. Many of the mistakes came in bunches.

Thing is it (a turnaround) can happen quickly in basketball. Will it occur next season? Not sure. But an ascension in basketball can happen more so than any other team sport.

Have to feel bad for Heron. Last chance to impress the scouts, and his production and confidence are at a career low point. He is a much better player than he has been showing. Seems like a carryover from the Arizona State game in the NCAA. As for Figgy, somewhere there must be a stat for average distance of the 3 pointers he takes. Has to be over 30 feet. Some here believed that Ponds hurt Heron's game, but it seems he misses a player that is constantly the focus of other teams defense.

Hard to get any assists, when your teammates can't make shots. I'm sure he set LJ up on some of those open threes, but LJ was John Starks in Houston tonight. Nobody was getting assists giving it to him.

Agreed, however you need to add a very special player for a quick turnaround. A four or five star recruit with leadership skills. Unfortunately, that type of player is beyond our grasp right now.
