Have watched DePaul multiple times this season (never been the case before) and I’ve always come away impressed (Iowa and Texas tech particularly). Any win this season in league play will be considered a “solid” win. Hopefully the guys have some renewed confidence heading to Providence (who look like a completely different team now).

Glad people have brought up next season in this thread. Can’t help but be excited to watch a team with a season’s experience under the CMA style. Please correct any of the following as I haven’t done full research (and know nowhere else to talk in depth St. John roster potential lol)
Eligibility done: Heron, Rutherford
Capable of Grad transfer: Dunn (will have 4 academic years under his belt)
Guards: Dunn, Williams, mcgriff, posh, wusu, cole
Forwards: LJ, Julian, earlington, DC
Centers(not really but u get it): Josh, Sears, steere, Moore

Believe that is 14....and given the sentiment we are still looking to add for next year... have to assume the staff knows something...

Hope LJ stays, don’t think Dunn would want to leave, given the lack of PT we’ve seen for Steere could be telling, or we could just be underestimating the importance of getting your feet wet in the OOC portion of the schedule.

Let me know what your tea leaves say (I’m still enjoying this year- but like what we’re building)

If LJ decides to return, the expectations will be unreasonably high. And of course I hope we get to see it.

Loved it last year, and now I hope I don't see it rest of the season.

It hasn’t been falling and it’s not pretty. But last year he hit them at a good clip. I agree that he needs to cut them back but I don’t think it’s a shot he’s incapable of making and with our team I don’t think we can afford for him not to take some of those shots.

Seems to me that lthe majority of his floaters came on drives down the middle of the key...this year he seems to be throwing up floaters from anywhere and at any angle...in any case, he is hurting us with his shot selection

Here's what I don't like about the Figgy floater aside from the fact that it's not going in. He takes that shot instead of going hard to the hoop which he very rarely does. As a result, he's played about 120 minutes more than Heron & Dunn, but taken the same amount of free throws as Heron and 12 less than Dunn. He's got the athleticism to take it right at the rim and not settle for the floater.

His length helps him in so many ways but it hurts him going to the rim. He doesn’t have the body control through contact or the ability to change directions in the paint. He gets his momentum going forward and he pretty much has to go straight with long strides. It’s not easy to get passed help defenders like that, hence the floaters.
