The pressure defense has been tremendous. Has made me think how do you cause twenty four turnovers vs Butler and lose? How do you total thirty turnovers and steals today and not walk away with an easy win ?
The poor shooting must even things out.

Heron at the 4 for the win! Haha expected to get a little bit beat up inside, but no doubt that puttin Heron in the forward position helped him open up his game. Knocked down a couple of open threes provided a mismatch when he was in there. LJ has to be smarter with shot selection. We got bad Rutherford today. When he’s good, he’s GOOD. When he’s basic he’s BAAAAAAAAD. This was the team we saw earlier in the year. Scraped our way to a W. And moved the ball for a change.

Heron are the 4 is a much better look offensively but we will need to fight for every single rebound and still will struggle. Dunn continues to be a great pick up, both this year and next. Get used to NYC guards leading the way.
Come on LJ, one more year baby.

Just returned from the Garden.

A few observations:
As stated by others Dunn was clearly the star of the game. However there were definitely other contributors to the victory. I thought Champagnie in particular was a stabilizing force and played effectively and efficiently in his 16 minutes of court time. Williams also was a steadying presence and helped seal the game from the line at the end. I thought it was surprising that Coach Anderson went small most of the game and used his bigs Roberts, Sears and Steere (who was a DNP) sparingly for only a combined total of 18 minutes. This was especially interesting when you consider how DePaul has hammered us on the inside over the last couple of years. Kudos for the coach finding a way to negate their size advantage and utilizing his personel to press our advantages in quickness. It was great to see us dominate the turnover stat again 19 to 8. This is a critical element to our formula for success.

It was also good to see Heron play well even though he is still somewhat less than 100% physically. He gave us poise and maturity out on the court. Earlington plays with a lot of heart and his tenacity is always a plus.

As said before by others the Refs went brain dead at halftime and started calling alot of ticky tack nonsense in the second half that changed the way the game was played. It also put LJ on the bench with four fouls but fortunately we survived all of that.

It should also be pointed out that SJU's changes in ticket policy definitely seemed to keep the crowd size down with most of the prime seats empty (didn't anybody learn anything from the pricing debacle for prime seats at Yankee Stadium).

Lastly the dance team routine in the second half was stunningly good. Hope they keep that one in their repetoire when they compete at the National competition.

They are going to have to keep that up to make up for the fact that every BE team is going to kill them on the boards.

Agreed, but that's what his teams have done over the years. We have no legit big men. What else is he supposed to do with this squad?

Only was able to watch the first 10 minutes, but followed on my phone. Great move by coach starting Heron up front; just what he needed to get untracked.
Suspect Williams is going to keep getting better and more confident with his shot and getting plenty of minutes the rest of the year. If Roberts continues to play soft, Champagnie may get some of his minutes at the five spot. Bench was solid, giving us 25 points to Depaul's 17. Nice to see Caraher hit a couple of outside shots.

On to Providence!
