Seeing that SJU wasn't on board with hiring Rice, I'm thinking Jackson's extramarital affair/extortion situation with a stripper doesn't help his case.

Don't know for sure, but I hope it is because he doesn't fit the profile we are looking for. Mark is another big name with no college coaching experience. Also, not sure how hungry he would be on the recruiting circuit. Been there, done that.

Am I mistaken or is this a common theme?

think about it there has been no continuity at SJU since Louie retired, from President to AD's to coaches, I get it!

If you talk to former players, including some "big names," they'll tell you you're not mistaken. Sadly, it is a common theme.

What would you expect with a new coach every four years and no administrators in the a.d. that last?

of all the choices out there I like Odom, not sure why he wouldn't be high on the list. After than probably Cluess. I'm not high on anyone from Duke, maybe a bit biased but I'm not sold on any of their track records. Dawkins is probably the most qualified out of the Dookies. Arizona State did not look like a well coached team to me. No idea about Sheyer but i think a minimum qualification for this job has to be prior head coaching experience and some measure of success doing it.

One thing that lingers in my mind is that had the decision to release CM had been made sooner, we would have had a better option of coaches to possibly choose from after the NCAA games were played.

Here's the list. Not sure which one's would be serious consideration, but I'm feel we're settling now.
