Keep saying I’m not going to get involved in this conversation, but just can’t help myself when I see some of the insane comments made here. For starters, for those of you mentioning “foregiveness”, when exactly did Rick apologize for anything and ask for foregiveness? Second, for those of you who think this is just about Catholic morals, UCLA wanted absolutely nothing to do with Rick, and to the best of my knowledge that had nothing to do with Catholic morals. Let’s face facts, wherever Rick lands(it ain’t gonna be here no matter how many family friends want him here) he will be under the watchful eye of both the Feds and the NCAA. No school needs that one-two punch up thier ass. Although some school, out of sheer desperation, will be willing to accept that. To that I say: better them then us.

I would love to win by not cheating nor do I endorse cheating. All I’m saying is if the NCAA doesn’t give a damn about clear cases of cheating why should I (if our coach does indeed cheat).

I don’t think this is over for Wade but if it is then his case as well as the whole North Carolina case just proves that NCAA doesn’t care.

My point, exactly.

Only one he should ask forgiveness to is god himself, aand no one else.
He had sex in a restaurant and the waitress wanted it, the only one he has to apologize to is his wife, and not society.
The college scandal, yes he's out at but if guilty then he'd be lock up with the others.

Him saying sorry would say he's guilty.

Quite honestly, I am blown away by some posters who are willing to accept a cheater to win. That's crazy and WRONG!

My opinion is that he should be and I will continue to state that until we have a coach and probably long after if it doesn't go well.

Some of us -- like myself and, if I understand him correctly, John Mar -- aren't saying Pitino shouldn't be hired because of the abortion issue. The point is, a Catholic university would no doubt put more far weight on those issues than a non-Catholic school like UCLA would. Not saying I agree with it, just saying it's likely true.

Unlike other cheaters, he never actually needed to cheat to win, though. Maybe he can fight the voices in his head telling him to cheat and he can be clean for five years . . . and ride off into the sunset after having brought us our first national championship.

Totally understand thinking that and appreciate the clarification. My statements continue to be about what I feel should happen. There seem to be other "holier than though comments" bashing Pitino personally.
