I wonder what the Marquette Board is up to today ? Think more than a few there are beserk over 4 Straight losses ? Our team hasn’t lost 4 in a row . But , Marquette has had a very good , near great year and I doubt few there are ready to jettison Wojo , even though he has had no answers for this fall off the cliff ..And , it’s gut wrenching winning for 35 minutes only to lose in the last 5 . Marquette really has no PG and Howard , like Ponds , has been run ragged by trying to do both , SG and PG. I guess Wojo’s at fault for not getting one ? I mean Mullin has been judged guilty for faulty recruiting here, why not Wojo too? And , after those 4 losses , think their fans are optimistic about the BE tourney ? Probably no ! But , starting Wednesday , all BE Teams are 0-0. It literally could be like the old NFL with the adage of ,” on any given Sunday, anything can happen .” Let’s Go Redmen !

We suck and have developed into the worst team in the big east that looks like a mess every time we take the court but Marquette lost a few games. Gee I feel so much better now.

Our guys can change a lot of peoples perspective starting Wednesday night including mine which has taken a big hit. It would be just like this team to go and wake up now for a memorable run. Just when almost all have given up. Come on guys. Make it happen.

When they wake up is one of them going to be 6'10" 260 pounds, with low post moves and shot blocking ability?

In the 13 seasons prior to this one since DePaul joined the Big East, has anyone ever lost to them 3 times in the same year? I'm guessing chances are low given they won 3 conference games or less in 8 of those 13 seasons. What an incredible opportunity and challenge for this young staff to get presented with this early in their tenure. You can really build on and grow from experiences like this.

There was clearly some good this year but unfortunately the regular season fell well short of expectations. This wasn't a statement step forward. Instead on balance the season is hanging on by a thread. Too much talent and too light of a schedule to warrant that. Some highlights:

Playing on Wednesday in the BET 4 straight years is pathetic. 4 consecutive years under .500 in the conference is pathetic. Going 0-6 against DePaul, Providence, and Xavier who were a combined 8 games under .500 in conference is pathetic. Winning 1 less conference game than Seton Hall and Xavier with all they lost (including their coach) and 1 more conference game than Providence with all they lost (to say nothing of narrowly avoiding a last place tie in conference) is pathetic. The inability over 4 years to effectively recruit, develop, and keep an average big that this team needs so badly, rendering many of our games against teams with merely average big men a joke (like Saturday), is pathetic. Having 12 wins on Dec. 22, and only 20 wins on March 11, is pathetic.

Fortunately the year doesn't get decided in the regular season, and this staff/team has at least one more chance to avoid the entire season being described as pathetic. Seton Hall probably wasn't feeling too good about 5 days ago having lost 3 in a row, and two games later they are probably in better shape for the Tournament than we are (which is pathetic).

Go out and win 2 games and get to Friday night of the BET for the first time in 18 years. Remove any doubt next Sunday which was supposed to be the case pretty much from the start. Those things would be something besides pathetic.

In the game planning phase the next few days, devising or at least attempting to devise something besides exactly what got SJU to -17 / 0-2 over 80 minutes against DePaul this year might be prudent.

This is a pathetically good post. And that is pathetic for me to say that.

We can win this no matter a big or not. Will we win is the question. Based on our play recently no. Based on how we can potentially play yes. If our guys play to their good potential and stop this free fall play we can win big man for us or not.
