Powell really reshaped his physique from HS to his time at Seton Hall.

Would love to hear Adam’s take on Utah State if they lose this game to 14-17 New Mexico. Currently a 10 seed on bracket matrix

Georgetown looks to be using a box and 1 defense on Powell. They've gone really cold. Only a 16-point lead for the Hall. Under 11 remaining in the game.

Copy pasted from ESPN after game tonight....

St. John's was projected as a No. 11 seed going into the Marquette game, and Bubble Watch supposes, if a few more bubble teams had won a few more games this week, there could be a discussion on whether this team is now in real trouble. Chris Mullin's men were blown out 86-54 by Marquette, and the NET ranking attached to the Red Storm even going into a lopsided loss already was in the mid-60s. Now factor in that, in the eyes of the rating system, the Johnnies actually were playing a "home" game at Madison Square Garden when they were hammered by 32 points. Meaning this NET ranking could get ugly. Still, there also are two things going in this team's favor. First, even after the debacle against the Golden Eagles in the Big East tournament, St. John's is still 3-2 against Marquette and Villanova for the season. Second, well, the committee does have to get to 68 somehow. (Updated: March 14)

With them being 3 spots ahead of us and Nevada the favorite to win the MW, it's tough to decide whether to root for Utah St. Do we want to be greedy (hope for 1 bid only- Nevada) or play it safe (assume the MW will have 2 bids and just hope one of those two teams win). I think at this point it's still best to play it safe and root for Utah St. Can't have that conference getting 3 teams in. Those type of scenarios would really make us sweat on Selection Sunday.

Actually a good day overall, with 11/16 results going our way.

Of course, the most important result (our game) was disappointing, but we are fortunate that we didn't lose much ground in bracketology.

Hoping our NET doesn't end up in the 70s after that performance, I can't remember any RPI teams in the 70s getting in the past 10-15 years. We are really making things tough with EVERY loss being a 10+ point blowout. Our advanced metrics are truly awful- Kenpom has us at #78. Syracuse I think last year or the year before got in with an RPI around #65.

Heading into today we were #64, so I don't think we'll drop 6+ spots. I'll guess our NET will be #68 tomorrow. We did drop 10 points for our home loss to Xavier (BET counts as home, too), but of course Marquette is better than Xavier.

On the bright side, our home win against them should remain Q1. We did a great job tonight of keeping their NET within the top 30...
