Apologies for the repetition, but for a physical team like this that wants to play at rim and does so effectively (56% from 2 as a team) and shoots the 3 so poorly (31%) the game is screaming for zone for meaningful stretches.

Was happy to see more of Trimble last night and think he's important in this game. He checked someone out into the stands (literally) at a key moment in the 2nd half to wrap up a defensive possession, had multiple above the rim rebounds in traffic, and after Ponds/Figgy might have the 3rd highest basketball IQ on the team. If he tosses in a few 3s in friendly confines of CA he can give us the 20+ productive minutes we desperately need right now.

As for Trimble, I agree. He was throwing around the 6'8 260 Paschal like a rag doll on more than one occasion. He had four big boy boards too. He has a good offensive IQ... needs some minutes to get there defensively, but his strength negates mismatches against PFs.

Snow is possible in the forecast for this weekend, unfortunately. Hopefully, we get this game done before anything hits (even a trace of snow tends to keep some of our fan base away, though).

His basketball IQ was definitely questionable when he fouled the guy down 3 with 10 seconds left left as the shot clock was expiring.

Heat of the moment foul, he's chasing the ball after the miss, probably wasn't sure if ball hit the rim or not. He's making a hustle play and it just so happens he committed a foul.

I feel like this is a little much. Improved or not this is still DePaul and shouldn't be a problem at home coming off a loss.

They aren't bad and that is about as far as it goes. This should be a comfortable win coming off a disappointing loss.

Agree re: the W. Especially in CA; DePaul a little scarier this year in their place. Expect we'll be 7.5+ point favorites. Just think we should look to take away what they do well and make them turn to what they don't, as opposed to just going strength v. strength (even though we should win that way too). Took Nova wire to wire in Philly and went right at Seton Hall who is a physical, athletic team in its own right. Can't be taken lightly.

Yes that was a hustle play and was running away from the basket. Tough break. Good hustle.

He played really well on defense and grabbed some rebounds. On offense he certainly played within his limitations and understands his role. But to say he threw Paschal around like a rag doll at any stage is a stretch. Paschall is a helluva player. Any team would in the country would be delighted to have him. he is big time.
