Agreed Cappy but he's always hurt. I don't think he's played a full season in the last two years.

That's huge for their program. Hopefully he just got caught in a bad spot and wasn't vastly overrated.

Former Sunrise Christian (alma mater of Clark and Trimble) player Nico Carvacho is having himself a season at Colorado State.

He’s a 6’11 240 redshirt junior who will be immediately eligible for a grad transfer this spring. He’s averaging 16 pts and, wait for it, 13.0 rebounds per game. He shoots 60% from the floor and has only taken one three all year.

Colorado State is well under .500 so he will almost certainly look to transfer. He went for 24 and 17 against #8 Nevada a week ago.

Matt A needs to be all over this kid.

Averaged 10.3 RPG last season (12.3 in conference. The second best guy had 9.6).

Goodman’s latest transfer list;

Would be surprised not to see former SJU PF verbal commit J’Raan Brooks on the list after season. He is barely playing at USC with a huge recruiting class in the wings.

They do lose 6’10 Bennie Boatright and 6’7 Shaquan Aaron t to graduation and 6’7 Porter Jr to the draft so there could be some hope for him there.

While I don't wish it on the players, it's nice poetic justice to see that the grass is not always greener. Latest examples are Brooks, Yakwe, Sima, and Wilson. If another key player is looking to transfer, show them what happened to the others and tell them it doesn't always work the way they think it will. Wilson would have been getting tons of time here but thank god he isn't because he's a cancer to the team and the program culture. Brooks would've gotten tons of time and maybe even started here in a tourney season. Instead, he barely plays on a mediocre USC team in a horrid Pac12. Yakwe did nothing at UConn when he would've gotten way more time here and same with Sima at OSU. In fact, it looks like our transfers make things worse for themselves by in large. Ellison is playing 21 minutes at Pitt which is in line with what he played as a freshman for us. He got more minutes with us his final year at SJ compared to now at Pitt and has worse stats. So you can add him to the list too. Owens is one of the few to actually play a bit better on a higher ranked program.

I don't know all the facts on Yakwe, but I find it extremely doubtful that he "would have gotten way more time here" had he stayed. After committing the atrocious foul in the Gtown game, he essentially didn't play the rest of the season despite the fact that we had no bench. My recollection is that during the Providence game, when Ponds was out, Mullin played a walk-on over Yakwe. If he wasn't forced out, Yakwe certainly saw the writing on the wall.
