9-10 players are good enough. Just go the transfer route until we can get better H.S recruits to come.
Trimble is god awful, Ellington probably won't be any good here, Roberts has potential as does Williams is my take.

Because we have been unsuccessful in getting better players to come here. The roster has to be filled out.

So less then 13players and we'd be penalized? You telling me that Trimble is better then Cole (a walk-on?)
Then to me that's a waste, if Trimble is on scholarship, then Cole should be too. No way is Trimble any better.

No argument from me on Trimble. I've always thought he had very little upside. However, the team needs to carry a certain number of players so they have someone to practice against. I sure would not be against keeping a scholarship in reserve in case a quality player becomes available.

9 players minus Trimble, Cole can take Trimble's spot and there's 10, so we can have 5 on 5.

Caraher, Wright and Steere (come winter break) can practice with the team too.

Not commenting on whether Trimble should stay or go just pointing out that if the "certain number of players for practice" comment was serious it was wrong.

Who the hell are we that we can start to run off players? Trimble is a role player and hopefully he knows and accepts that. The same guys that are hoping he transfers will probably complain too many kids are transferring out of SJU.

lol I won't miss him.
I'll give credit for tonight though
14minutes: 2-5 from 3, a blck, and 2 boards.
That's a nice little game there.

Get consistent now. Gotta start some where, prove us doubters wrong, that's what I'm hoping for.

Perhaps it has been mentioned before but, seemingly a logical reason for not getting the HS Recruits like Gaffney, Boughtright , etc that we have pursued is the fact that we have Mack, Wright, Carraher , Steere waiting in the wings to play next season . Like it or not , these are experienced players that likely would see lots more Playing time than any new recruit , unless they were Exceptional and capable of starting right away . Witness Quinerly at Nova , not even playing last game , let alone start . There may be other reasons for Quinerly siting but, still it’s tough to crack the Nova starting 5. I could also add that presumably Dixon and perhaps Simon will return next year along with Figgy and Keita . Add Mack and Wright to that mix and where would Gaffney etc fit in ? Maybe 9 th or 10 th man ? Which , like this year , likely means a lot of sitting on the Bench come Game day . Anyway , it’s a theory . Maybe those clamoring about the poor recruiting ought to think about why a HS player we pursued choose another school, not because of Mullin but, more so a realization about Playing time , not bring there for him .

The key is recruit HS players who are good enough to earn playing time.

. Yes, of course but, Mack , Wright, Steere, were all highly recruited players in their own right and would any of the HS kids we recruited this past year be of the caliber to beat these guys out for PT? I doubt it . If you are saying you think we should be able to get top 25 or top 50 kids to come here that are better than Mack or Wright or Figgy or Keita that’s a pretty tall order for any BE Coach , not named Jay Wright.
