8 seed, according to Lunardi, which means we've actually moved up a bit, since we were a 9 last week.

Good news: He has Syracuse as one of the last 4 teams in. That means that, as of now, they would be out, if the committee met today (he's been wrong on the Cuse each of the last 3 years).

Jerry Palm has us as a 7 seed, but playing Arizona in Salt Lake City, which would be a huge disadvantage, IMO.

If anyone wants to follow along, most of our previous out of conference opponents ranked in the Top 150 RPI are in action today. The more they win, the more it helps our RPI.

Bowling Green @ Central Michigan - 4:30 PM (Central Michigan is 108 in RPI, this would be a good win for BG, who has won 5 in a row)

Rutgers @ Minnesota - 12:30 (Minnesota is #26 in RPI)

VCU @ Davidson - 2:00 PM (big game, Davidson is 49 in RPI, and need VCU to keep winning)

Georgia Tech @ Syracuse - 6:00 PM

Princeton @ Penn - 2:00 PM

St. Francis (PA) @ St. Francis (BK) - 4:00 PM

I always go to one Davidson game and was originally considering todays VCU game, but we saw them here two years ago so decided to opt for either Rhode Island or Fordham later this year. VCU usually beats Davidson up on the boards but today should be an excellent game as Davidson got their injured star player back last week.

Syracuse blown out by Georgia Tech. Certainly can’t hurt, although we better start winning some games...

Was watching Duke - Florida state. Video review of out of bounds call gave ball back to Duke. All views except aerial view appear to show ball going off florida state, reversing call. However I thought that top down showed ball changing trajectory as it passed Duke player. In any case appeared too close to reverse call.

Braziller Piece on National Hoops
nypost.com/2019/01/14/michigan-hasnt-los...only-getting-better/

Down: Chris Mullin
“The first national ranking of the Chris Mullin era will be short-lived. The Johnnies were riding high on Tuesday, up big early on Villanova, before blowing that lead and then losing at home to DePaul for the second straight year, albeit without potential All-American guard Shamorie Ponds (lower back strain). In this critical season for the trajectory of the Mullin era, the résumé is thin, the result of a poor non-conference schedule, and the Johnnies didn’t appear to be prepared to play without Ponds against DePaul. Wednesday at home against Creighton is close to a must-win.”

We really do not want to hit the midway point of the Big East season at anything less than 5-4 IMO
