Duke,

two of California/ VCU/ Temple (in the Legends Classic)
Princeton (Holiday Festival),
Sacred Heart,
Mount St. Mary’s,
St. Francis (NY),
two of Loyola (MD)/ Detroit/ Bowling Green.

That's 11 games. Does that mean we have two more yet to schedule or did I miss a game or two that came after that article? Thanks.

Wagner at home, and one more game TBA.

Where did you get them? I don't see them for sale on the SJU Athletics Website. As a matter of fact, they still show the 2017-18 Schedule.

There's a debate going on at Holy Land about how bad the OOC schedule is this year. Personally, I think it's the worst SJU has had in a long time. Based on numbers from last year, we only have one Top 50 team (Duke) and two Top 100 teams (Duke and Temple if we even play them). Here's the schedule and their KenPom rankings from last year:

@ Rutgers- 130
Legends Classic Home Game (1 or 2?)- bad no matter who get get
Legends Classic vs Cal- 244
Legends Classic vs VCU or Temple- 144 or 86
Vs Georgia Tech (N)- 119
Vs Princeton- 190
Vs Sacred Heart- 305
Vs St Francis- 313
Vs Mount St. Mary's- 238
Vs Wagner- 180
@ Duke- 3

So based on that, unless I'm missing someone we have either 11 or 12 games already on the schedule. I'm not sure how many Legends Classic home games we'll have.

Regardless, the schedule so far is extremely weak. Georgia Tech I think is losing their best player. It's easy to look at it and see a bunch of major teams (Duke, Georgia Tech, VCU/Temple, Cal, Rutgers), but in reality we could only face one Top 100 team. That's a major downgrade from last year where we faced 6 teams with RPI 1-100. Those included Duke (5), Nebraska (49), UCF (96), Iona (100), Missouri (69), Arizona St (59).

Does anyone know exactly how many teams we have left to schedule, and if we're trying to get another big game or two added?

It does look weak, but I think it's compounded by the fact that we all think the Big East is going to be down this year. If we had played this non-conference schedule this past year, I still think our overall numbers would have been good in the end.

Plus, you never know how teams are actually going to do, and where they will finish. Nebraska at 49 wound up being a surprise last year (I think they were projected to be ahead of only Rutgers in the Big 10), while St. Joseph's was supposed to be an A10 contender (injuries killed that team).

So yes, it looks weak on the face of it, but I believe we should let it play out before we make any declarations.

Glass half full is going into conference play undefeated. And it seems they say that the Big East is going to have a down year every year. So let's see how it plays out. Definitely a lot of "What If's" in the Big East.

Hopefully the remaining game to be scheduled is against a top team at MSG.

Legends classic is 4 games - 2 on campus 2 at barclays.

We have one last game to schedule.

Hopefully it is good because this schedule is extremely weak and if we are in the bubble this will not get us over the top.

Not now. Fuhgeddaboudit, but instead of the likes of Wagner, Mount St. Mary’s, St. Francis, Sacred Heart, why the heck didn’t we schedule Iona?
Better comp in most years than the above and would help Tim Cluess, an x-Johnny.
Just saying.
