So far in Gavitt they've played Rutgers, Minn, and Nebraska. Not exactly highlight games. At least in 2 of those years they played Mi St and Indiana in other tourneys.

I like it. Raises the ante, but beating Rutgers send a food postcard to our Jersey targets and highlights our NY's Team label to key local kids, like Kofi

Are any of those guys seriously considering Rutgers? Asking for a friend.

Date of the game is Friday, November 16. Might be a packed house that night, as Rutgers football hosts Penn State the following day, so some fans might want to warm up with this one.

If past history of this event means anything, pick Rutgers if the Big East is up 4 to 3 entering this game. If the Big Ten is up 4 to 3, slam it on the Johnnies. If it's not 4 to 3 entering this game, then who knows? That's never happened before.

We are in the process of putting together one of the worst home non conference schedules in a while.

With two games left to schedule hopefully they change this. If not, another sign this program is falling back into the Norm years.

Would like to see more Michigan State, Texas, Florida, Virginia, etc. type schools. We know noncon is meant to be mostly cupcakes, but our chances to get ranked wins will be very few this year. Nova will probably be the only ranked team in the Big East so in those expected down years, it would help greatly to schedule top 25 national programs. If you knock 1 off and take care of the cupcakes it will set you up nicely for March. Get an early signature win when teams are still working out kinks.

Should be playing 1 good out of conference game at MSG per year.
No reason they should not be doing this.

SJU is now at a point where they can compete with the top teams. The atmosphere at the Duke game along with the recruiting ,financial benefits and strength of schedule boost should make a game vs a top team a must.

Not sure if posted already but Rothstein tweeted this morning we will host Wagner at home.

That leaves us with one last game to schedule. Wouldn't mind playing in that Under Armour doubleheader at MSG. Seton Hall competed in that the last two years.

That's 4 teams from the NEC, with Wagner being the best of the bunch last year (regular season champs).

Blake Francis (#3) and Romone Saunders (#11) are the top returnees, and two of their three main scorers last year. So, they could provide a decent challenge.

Agree that we should schedule a major conference opponent at MSG if at all possible for that last game.

It has now become standard practice for all websites to be served as https (as opposed to the original http).
