I can relate to that 100%, LJSA. Coming out of an all-boys Catholic HS in the mid-1960s, one of the reasons I opted for St. John's over Fordham (the other reason being my love of Redmen basketball) was having the chance to go to a college that had coeds -- if not to talk to them (I was pretty awkward that first year), then at least to look at (which I did a lot of). As it turned out, I eventually came close to marrying one of them before she dumped me. :( On the plus side, I still have my passion for SJU hoops.

Wait. Hasn't Fordham always been Co-ed? My aunt went there in the 50s and met my uncle/

Your aunt likely was enrolled in St. Thomas Moore which was to Fordham what Barnard is to Columbia essentially back then. If it was the 50's she was likely a high school girl trying to meet college guys after school.:P

She had graduated hs at age 15, went to work for the phone company and when new hires were placed above her asked why when she clearly knew more. Told they had degrees, she enrolled at Fordham at nights, graduated with a b.s. in 4 years and won the math medal at graduation. She went on to become a high ranking executive in the phone co. She's 93vand still walks 3.5 miles per day

Ah, the old night school loophole. Sounds like a great lady, Beast. (What are your chances of just walking -- forget about 3.5 miles a day -- at age 93?)

The weird thing is that these schools don't even need to cheat. Kansas wins 30+ games every damn year. And from having a friend recruited by Self years ago, I know they guy hustles his ass off on the recruiting trail. His methods were a little sneaky, but they were clean. Then again, this was not at Kansas so maybe the budget was smaller.

Goodman;
To make it clear: The new allegations are that adidas funneled money to one Kansas player’s mom, and one guardian of another KU player, through an adidas consultant. Allegations are also that adidas funneled money to former NC State player through former coach at NC State.

With their me first and greedy attitudes if today's players lived in the 50's they would be shaving points for financial gain in record numbers.
Now they sell their services to the highest bidders who want to win, not lose games.
All characters and events depicted in this post are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
