College hoops corruption case poised to take down Hall of Fame coaches, top programs, lottery picks

It has been five months since the FBI arrested 10 men in a sweeping federal probe into the underbelly of the basketball world. As the three ongoing criminal cases resulting from the investigation plod along, it’s increasingly unlikely there will be another wave of double-digit arrests.

More legal charges still could come, but what’s becoming increasingly clear as the discovery portion of the case comes to a close is that the breadth of potential NCAA rules violations uncovered is wide enough to fundamentally and indelibly alter the sport of college basketball.

Unless they shut down programs nothing with come of this. Some vacated appearances, post-season bans, scholly reductions? No big deals.

This should be fascinating to watch unfold, but one of the things I don't understand is why this hasn't expanded to football where the real money is.

It's going to Stanford, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Vandy, some Big East teams, and 55+ mid-majors in the tournament next season. We have a great chance of winning it all.

The FBI case will never be taken seriously as anything but headline grabbing case, or have any sustainable impact unless UNC is front and center. That is not to pick on UNC. It is the reality after the NCAA was exposed as the sham it is in how it handled the UNC fiasco. Ultimate satisfying result would be to expose the corruption between the NCAA and the money and power at Schools and companies that benefited with vast wealth and betrayed the public trust in the name of protecting student athletes.

Listening to an interview with Jeff Goodman from ESPN and he feels this may be limited to schools tied to Adidas.....All Big East teams are with Nike except for SJU and SH which are with Under Armour....

Some of the big Adidas schools - Kansas, Indiana, Louisville, Miami, NC State, Arizona State, Texas A&M.....

That sucks. I don't really like any of those programs, but I don't have severe burning hatred for them.

Sources: Spreadsheets, wiretaps and bank records detail payment scheme in hoops corruption case

Financial records, documents and wiretaps tied to prominent former NBA agent Andy Miller and featuring his former associate, Christian Dawkins, have provided a detailed window for authorities into how the college basketball underworld operated, sources with knowledge of the ongoing federal investigation have told Yahoo Sports in recent days.

Sources familiar with the probe told Yahoo Sports that there’s a surprising level of specificity in the documents, bank records and wiretaps involving Miller’s business. They include exact dollar figures and intricate documentation of payments to the families of college players. There are also conversations brokering deals between Dawkins and the clients he was recruiting.

Maybe we will know soon the real reason behind the 11th hour switch of Whitehead from SJU to SH.
That package deal with Tiny, Whitehead, and Rodriquez may not look so great after all in a couple of weeks, especially if Hall has Zero NCAA Tournament victories for their possible shady business dealings.
