Paul I have to respectfully disagree wrt Seton Hall and the absence of a true point guard. It is absolutely going to continue to hurt them unless Walker gets healthy and can adapt quickly. The time lost integrating him into the lineup could become a real issue even if he does come back. They are essentially weakened at two rotation positions, point guard where a guy with a score first second and third mentality has to now run offense and at the first guard off the bench where Walker giving them an able point guard sub could have provided rest for both Carrington and Powell. Shooters need to maintain fresh legs.

Even so, at the peak of a 4 year cycle with the luxury of 4 quality seniors with major experience all 3 years coming in, including one of the best college big man in the country, you adapt and have time to build for contingencies. If they didn't, same thing applies. And it is not like St. John's 3 years ago when we didn't have a single guy who could consistently bring the ball up the floor. They've got guys that can handle, shoot, drive and post. They've got good size, speed, power and athleticism. It should all be gelling right now and they should be cruising pre-conference. This is their time to make a splash and they aren't taking advantage. We've seen glimpses of what they can do since last season but it is wildly inconsistent. This team with all that experience should be executing. I guess I'm feeling a bit of a schmuck since I picked them the past two seasons.

Xavier came back to win by 2. Great comeback, but they never should have been behind by that much.

Depaul trails Northwestern by 1 with 3 and a half to go.

Seton Hall fans have gotten very arrogant recently so I'm glad they lost.

Everyone is so hard on St. John’s. When we lost the exhibition game it was a disaster. You can’t play your best every game.

Yes on coaching because when Rutgers hired Pikell he was a basketball coach. When we hired
Mullin he was not a basketball coach at that time. No on recruiting.

Ah, I get it. Chris is on a learning curve but he bleeds SJU. His creds are unbeatable. I believe in the guy. He will (with key support from Mitch, Matt, St. Jean and the players) bring us back. I feel it.

Even with the win, Rutgers will has an RPI of 119 this year, let's not give them too much credit. Prior to that win, hey hadn't beaten anyone in the RPI top 100, and just about every team they've beaten is ranked in the 200's or 300's.

ATTENTION:

Major updates were made to the servers / software hosting redmen.com. There was also one significant change to the website this week to address keeping up with current standards and practices.

It has now become standard practice for all websites to be served as https (as opposed to the original http).

A couple of years ago I enabled https on the site as optional but as of today, the site is forcing https. Any link coming into the site should be automatically converted on the fly and you should not have to do anything on your end.

However if you do notice recent problems, please contact me directly via email: webmaster@redmen.com or via private message on the site.
