Amazing what a FF run can do

Just see St. John's circa 1985 :(

Meh, Louie didn’t recruit well post 85 until Sealy and Werdann three years later.

My point exactly. Memory fades on this one but I think we brought in only one kid, Rob James?

Rob James was class of 82.
Marco Baldi was class of 85.
Class of 86 was outstanding on paper, Broadnax and Lewis, 2 top 50 guards who left after year 1 , Moses Scurry who ended up going to juco and winning the NCAA tournament with UNLV and Jayson Williams who was a prop 48 his freshman season.

Kevin Fitzpatrick was also class of 85 (redshirted).

Thanks. I knew I remembered it as a stellar class. ;) :)

Looie rescinded Gary Payton's scholarship in order to sign Broadnax. Major faux pas.

Nice memories RMN
I believe Louie did NOT play Broadnax OR Lewis enough hence they left. Louie never played a deep bench. And with few exception (Mullin) I do not recall Louie playing freshman.

One of his teammates, Kareem Reid, just committed to Gardner-Webb. Seems odd for a top 150 class of 2020 to commute early to a low-major. Unless I have the wrong kid/class.

Edit: looks like the 3rd NY REN on GW

Not just rescinded offer, but didn't except the signed LOI from Payton. Broadnax was the much higher rated player. Payton had like one other D1 offer at the time. Still wanted to come even with the other two guys in the fold.

Just goes to show ratings don't always work out.

Yup, bad move by Louie for many reasons.

Anderson and Co. targeting some really good kids. Another 4-star kid who is local, with good height, long arms and skilled. Tough-nosed defensively like Anderson likes.
