Below is a LINK to Raw footage of Milan High School defeating Muncie Central High School in the 1954 high school basketball state championship, the game the movie "Hoosiers" was based on.

Great sports movie but definitely quite a bit of poetic license. While Milan was a small school, they were very much a known quantity and actually had made the state tournament final four the year before, losing in the semi-final game. Ironically, the real “Cinderella” story that year was a school, Montezuma, almost exactly half the size of Milan that lost to Milan in a very close game leading up to the state final four.
Of course the other side note was that the star of Muncie Central was the then sophomore in high school , the incomparable Big O.

Did Oscar transfer in high school? My memory is that he was a grad of Crispus Attucks HS.

You are right my bad and I stand corrected, they beat Crispus Attucks and Oscar earlier in the tournament. Thank you.....
