Hope I am pleasantly surprised by a couple of big man recruits, but still can't understand why we are not represented at this event in our home state.

Unbelievable. Okay, the entire Staff doesn’t have to be there. We offered these guys already and have been recruiting them over 1-2 years—but it’s a signature tournament of their young lives with a cluster of other major college teams there. ‘Why’ isn’t ‘someone’ from Staff...’there’.

BECAUSE THE STAFF DOES NOT EXPECT TO BE HERE FOR THE 2020 CLASS!

Davis scored another 27 points in the finals against South Shore. Not a bad tournament for the Sophomore. Not surprised no one showed up for this tournament when Shamorie was at Jefferson and they won the Federation no one showed up for that either albeit he was signed already.

I have been, and continue to be in support of this staff. That said, this is the type of news that erodes confidence a little bit. As a fan, you always hope the staff matches your sense of urgency. Now, for all we know, they may be using their time well on other recruits. But, no doubt, the Stepniac game and Glen falls tourney were two places to be.

Why wasn’t Staff present at the New York Federation Basketball Championships held this weekend?

A. They thought the recruiting dead period started this past weekend instead of the upcoming weekend.

B. They were focusing on trying to get help for the 2018-19 season instead instead of focusing on someone who can’t help until the 2020-21 season.

C. It just didn’t occur to them.

D. They are lazy.

E. All of the above.

F. None of the above.

Recruiting has taken a big hit lately. We did well early on snagging Ponds, but he has 1 more year at most and that's if he's even back next year. We can't just ride Ponds and get 1 good recruit every 4 year cycle. I really want to be a fly on the wall. Are we really putting maximum effort in? Maybe we are, but Matt can't do it alone? Maybe we aren't and we are focusing on transfers. Whatever the method is, it's clearly not working and there needs to be a change in philosophy. We seem to be losing kids more than we get commitments. Something's rotten in Denmark.
