Noticed CM and the lure of playing in front of his mom at home.

Not only does Mullin get to sell MSG to the recruits. But , he could have gone to any school in the country. Chose SJU and got to play in front of friends and family and was a success story. Furthermore a successful team in NYC really gets a lot of support ,buzz, and media attention . Mullin needs to continue to be on the front lines w respect to recruiting. A nice selling point to the nyc kids. An eligible Heron and a couple of 2019 studs and we will be right where we want to be.Fingers crossed.

Can you please summarize for those of us who cannot access Rivals premium content? Thank-you.

St. John’s head coach Chris Mullin and assistant coach Greg St. Jean followed Kofi Cockburn for most of the early part of the Nike Peach Jam tournament in South Carolina. That sort of support, especially from Mullin, was “real impactful” for the Rivals five-star forward from Christ the King (NY) high school in Middle Village, NY.

“They want me really badly. They’re home,” he said. “My mom could come watch me. It’s a good look. I’m looking at it.”

Concluding the Peach Jam, Cockburn plans to cut his list down to twelve and visit a few programs in August. He has already unofficially visited St. John’s and UConn, and plans to visit Illinois, Kansas and Kentucky.

I hope and I bet that Kofi’s comments about how ‘impactful’ CM’s presence on the sidelines was, at a major recruiting event, resonates with Chris.
It’s obvious, how critical CM’s recruiting presence is to major local recruits, given his HOF creds, and his NY roots.

Just hope he doesn't get blown away on any of his other official visits and gets stars in his eyes. He sure would look good in red and white.

Looks like a Spring commit with a lot of suitors obviously.
