I'm too lazy to look for myself

Assuming we were 8/9 game, we'd have to play at 7 p.m. on the first day, win, then come back the next day at noon vs. Xavier with no bench. Going to be tough.

Definitely tough but I actually think that would be easier than playing up tomorrow in Providence without Ponds

Luckily my hotel is next to the Arena and near the bars in case it gets ugly tomorrow and I need to drown my sorrows

We'd be looking a lot better if we replaced Molloy with someone like Middle Tennessee St. I'd like us to be a team with balls that plays a top mid-major at their place, which would likely make us one of only a few major conference teams with the balls to do it.

I'd be fine with that if it's near Nashville for a road trip. Or else I'd just like to play Tulane every year to I can go so New Orleans each time

Or I'd like to play Memphis for an away game too

I seriously doubt it.

Like you mentioned before and just for the future because maybe it doesn't even matter this year but playing D2 schools needs to be banned. Just play a low D1 then

I don't think there's an NIT team with one top five win.

I don't want to kill anyone's dreams, but I'm 99.9 percent certain that we need to win BET if we want to see the team play after the Providence game.

What? You think there's no chance we can make the NIT? I'm 99.9% sure you're wrong.

Never understand why people just look at the record and nothing else, but in this case our record could be 18-15 (DI) if we lost in the BE finals and beat Providence. Our RPI currently is #80 and typically teams with that RPI make it into the NIT. KenPom is #73. SOS is #6. All the metrics are positive.

If we won against Providence and then 3 more teams we'd be a LOTTTT closer to the NCAA bubble than the NIT bubble.

Don't see any logic behind why we shouldn't make the NIT with another couple wins. One win I think could do it, actually.

Would need 2 more wins for the NIT for 17-16 record but with Ponds injury and the possibility he may not be 100 % make that goal more difficult but not impossible.

I agree it'll be difficult, but yeah 2 wins should do it. 4 wins is less likely but that'd be a guaranteed NIT bid.

I think 1 win puts us on the bubble but I wouldn't be too confident getting in.

2 could, but rather not take any chances, get 3 wins.

We're not playing in the NIT if we only get two more wins. 2-1 over next three would make us 16-16 against D-1 teams. We aren't getting in NIT with .500 record.

I'm going to disagree here. If we beat Providence on the road and Georgetown in the BET and lose to Xavier in the 2nd round, I think that's enough to get us in, when you factor RPI and SOS. You may say a .500 team has never got in, but what's the highest RPI/SOS team that never got in?

The only way to predict if SJU can make the NIT is to wait and see who they are being compared to. You will be going up against teams who have already seen over one hundred teams who have made the NCAA or the NIT.
If SJU can beat Geogetown and Xavier and if Ponds is playing I believe they can their wins over Duke, Vill and Xavier will be unmatched by any team in the NIT field and should be enough to get them in regardless of their overall record. The bubble teams in the NIT field will have very few wins over top fifty teams no less top five teams.
