Even so Seton Hall should not lose this game. Seton Hall has the personnel and the experience to be a legitimate top 10 team. The execution should be there against the teams they should beat. Next season will be brutal for them if they can't win big with this group.

Rutgers just beat Seton Hall. Rutgers low key is 10-3 with a top 15 win.

Impressive job by Pickell.

I said it at the time. Pikell was as close to a "sure thing" hire that Rutgers could reasonably get.

Re: your earlier Georgetown post. Even if they lose (and the Cuse are starting to come back), they've discovered the formula to win in the BE. That is to ugly the game up as much as possible. They won't rise to the level of the top teams in the BE, so they are going to have to bring them down to their level. So far today, they've done a great job of that (Syracuse is not that good, BTW).

Bringing other teams down to their level won't work on good teams. It may work every blue moon, but most times it will not pay off.

Syracuse has no shooters, can't shoot free throws, and in need of a point guard. The Orange haven't looked too good today. Georgetown also has beaten Syracuse the past two seasons, and I sense they'll finish 'em off today. But, I still see the Hoyas at the bottom of the conference, along with DePaul.

It's not a formula for season long success, I agree with that. But, if doing that gives them 4 or 5 Big East wins, that's still better then the 1 or 2 they would have gotten playing the other way.

Georgetown with a collapse the last two minutes, and the game is going to OT.

Frankly, they are lucky that Syracuse didn't win it on that last possession. One of my main complaints over the years, is that St. John's seems to miss more easy bunnies then any other team I see. After watching Syracuse today, and Grand Canyon last week, I know already that that will not be the case this year.

Nevermind. Can’t believe Georgetown couldn’t handle that press.

Ewing may have a legit beef with the refs in this one. That fifth foul on Derrickson was total BS. Once they didn't win it in regulation, the OT result was inevitable without Derrickson (though it's not over yet).

Battle was fantastic for the Cuse late in regulation, and in the OT.

Not a good Saturday for the Big East so far. Unless Georgetown can pull off a miracle, they are about to go to 0-3, with 2 games going on right now.

You're 100% correct Paul
Seton Hall starts 4 seniors
They'll be rebuilding next season
Gotta make some noise this year

Xavier is down by 20 to East Tennessee State, about 6 minutes in to the second half.

The brutal Saturday continues for the Big East.

Not Big East, but Sima is playing in his first game today for Oklahoma State against Florida State - has 5 points at halftime.

Paul I have to respectfully disagree wrt Seton Hall and the absence of a true point guard. It is absolutely going to continue to hurt them unless Walker gets healthy and can adapt quickly. The time lost integrating him into the lineup could become a real issue even if he does come back. They are essentially weakened at two rotation positions, point guard where a guy with a score first second and third mentality has to now run offense and at the first guard off the bench where Walker giving them an able point guard sub could have provided rest for both Carrington and Powell. Shooters need to maintain fresh legs.
