Lastly, it is my impression that administration expected Chris to be consistently involved in fundraising efforts and events, in light of their financial commitment to the program. Hopefully that has occurred.

SJU, from what a number of folks have told me, is facing a number of financial challenges. One example the NYS Excelsior Free College Tuition Program which has adversely effected SJU enrollment. In such trying times, an all hands on deck effort seems prudent. In my opinion, a nationally recognized guy like Chris could really be a key resource meeting this challenge.

While I was out shopping yesterday I ran into a guy who was wearing an SJU hat and asked him if he was a fan. Said he is a recently retired employee and that there are financial issues and budget cuts taking place, which goes with what you said.

Latest from Rivals on Whitney. Evidently Whitney doesn't know who Richmond is...

Whitney also talked about his in home visit with St. John's.

“It was great, coach (Chris) Mullin came out with the whole coaching staff and they had a sheet with my scouting report to help them get better," said Whitney. "We just talked about my future.”

As for the next step in Whitney's recruitment, chalk him up as an "after the summer" guy in terms of when he will make a final list of schools.

Kahlil made a big jump. On the ESPN 60 list (which I don't believe has been updated recently), Aidan is 37, Kofi 38 and Kahlil 41. Obviously, there is a lot of subjectivity/variability with these lists. But any one of them would be a huge get for us.

Yeah, I was surprised to see him ranked higher than Kofi and A idan
You're right, he leaped into 'somebody's' top 25.
Impressive player; very quick wing.
Didn't know he shot 49% from beyond the arc.

Sure does sound like Louisville has the inside track here. I continue to get the feeling our best shot with the frequently mentioned 2019 recruits is with Gaffney. Would love to see us sign him early to get a little recruiting momentum going for 2019.

Agree NCJohnnie, getting Gaffney to commit early would be a coup and to paraphrase you, set the stage for more recruiting success in the 2019 class.
Hoping we text/tweet Kofi every AM like Musselman did JB or have a Plan B to get a very solid 2019 Big.
