Paul......I sporadically receive this message when I try to catch up with earlier posts:

There are replies in this post but you are not allowed to view the replies from this post.

I tried to read the latest on Jalen Gaffney and got the message which has happened in the past.

That is a weird one since there are no permissions issues in that forum category for reading replies for ANY user logged in or not. Anyone else have this happen? I just looked at your account and there are no issues with it.

The two possibilities that come to mind are some sort of issue with your session / cookie conflict, or a security filter.

A few questions:

1) do you have more than one tab open? (like having several pages open simultaneously in the same browser) Or even have the site open in more than one browser like say Safari on your iPad and Internet Explorer on your PC or if you are like me and have multiple browsers installed on one computer?
2) Are you logging in from more than one computer or device. Like maybe leaving your account logged in at work and then coming home and logging in simultaneously? Or sharing your login with someone?

3) Did you ever do the delete cookies process as I outlined in #3 here:

I've had it happen as well but just keep reloading and trying again until it goes away.
There have been nearly 3000 Gods so far but only yours actually exists. The others are silly made up nonsense. But not yours. Yours is real.

I've gotten it as well, but am able to resolve by clicking on "latest"; then it brings me to latest replies in that post.

austour did you ever do the delete cookies ? Or do either of the other two questions apply?

Paul......thank you for your help......I'll try to respond as follows:

1. One tab for the most part, sometimes more than one. I don't have an IPad and rarely if ever use the web on my Iphone.
2. No, I do not log in from more than one device simultaneously if at all.
3. I tried to clear the cookies.......I'm far too ignorant to know if I followed the directions correctly or if I was successful

capmaker did you do this just now or before you got that not allowed to view message?

if the former, let me know if you get the message again.

I did it a few minutes ago after I received your instructions. Trust me.......as the site's resident mollusk, I'll advise you if I continue to struggle. Thank you again for your help and for redmen.com.

Still happens to me from time to time as well....
I usually have many tabs open on different topics.
I am usually logged on in my cell phone most times and my computer at the same time.
And I have deleted cookies.

Lastly--- hitting the 'latest' button always works.
Thank you

Hey Paul thanks for all your efforts - maybe you should teach a course - maybe a weeklong retreat - on navigating the system :p
Anyway my question - perhaps trite - deals with "becoming "friends" - what exactly happens and/or what does that lead to. Does it become easier e.g. to communicate one on one? We didn't have these issues during the CW circa 1860 lol
