Might be better than chopped liver:

The University of Houston men’s basketball team on Thursday announced the signing of Ahmed Hamdy, a 6-9 post player from Trent Internationale in Sugar Land.

Hamdy, who will be a freshman during the 2013-14 season, averaged a double-double with 18.7 points and 13.6 rebounds as a senior at Trent Internationale. He also averaged 1.3 blocks and 4.0 steals per game.

“He is a tough, interior player and an excellent rebounder,” UH coach James Dickey said. “With his physical gifts, Ahmed will provide depth in our frontcourt.”

Hamdy also has international experience, competing for Egypt at the U-17 World Championships in Germany in 2010, where he averaged a tournament-best 12.1 rebounds.

Houston was pathetic...so, while I haven't seen the kid, I am skeptical...Guess Sampson was recruiting over him

Pretty sure he never played. He was ruled ineligible.

I'm not sure whether the NCAA is stealing a season of eligibility from him, but maybe he trusts St. John's to hire the right lawyer and not Houston. Or maybe Ahmed thinks Sampson is a scumbag.
