Does this guy do anything for anyone?
7'0" 255 LBS
www.kansas.com/sports/college/big-12/kan...rticle121525872.html

My guess is he would have to sit out a year but maybe if didn't play since 12/31/16 he would still be eligible 1/1/18.

Seems like this guy will be pretty old for his class, since he already red shirted a year.

It probably messes up the big recruiting year SJU was anticipating in 2018.

Give me a grad transfer big man who can play immediately and average a solid 8 to10 points a game and 4-6 rebounds a game and more importantly be able to catch a ball and keep a defense honest.

Also just as important is for Owens to continue his hard work and upward trajectory. Gotta put 20 pounds on and work on his low post moves and shooting. His shot doesnt look that bad in my opinion. Just gotta keep on working on it and gain some more beef and work on not falling for every ball fake which will cut down on ticky tack fouls.

Amazing that a guy that I didnt think would have much of an impact that I think we need him to have the biggest impact as far as improvment and continue to develop his game more

Agree totally. He can drive you crazy by occasionally committing avoidable fouls, but this guy works his tail off, is a great teammate & plays with passion. A keeper & nice surprise this year.

I was just watching Luis Santos (Bronx) play for USF. He is a sophomore now and chose USF for Orlando Antiqua who is gone. I have no idea if he is interested in leaving, but he's 6'8" 250 lbs, very active and agile. Obvioisly we need help now and he would have to sit a year.

Just an interesting player who would be nice to have.

CJ Gettys, a 7 footer from UNCW, did just that for Rutgers this season
He wasn't the most athletic or graceful, but he got the job done
Rutgers is also in the hunt for another big man grad transfer for next season

I know that his name was brought up here before, and people much more knowledgable than me weren't very high on him, but that was a while back, . Maybe his game has improved to the point that he deserves a look.

Please, c jones had his shot he would not have made a significant diff to our team. His path should have been Div 2-3 where he could have stood out
