Petty and pathetic. Both sides should be ashamed that this is in court and its smacks of poor business decisions. Not surprised Cahill was involved. Who makes a deal that lasts in perpetuity? Oral agreements, $1MM payoff... amateur hour.

To summarize: both parties want to get Bent

Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them. I don’t care how crazy they are!

Bent and his family are bent in more ways than just their surname.
This once proud alum, like a few others, need psychological help.

At St. John's nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

If the building continues to be named Bent Hall, why not resolve this by signage that would indicate that. They can still promote the Tobin school prominently as well.

In another article, the university had asked Bent for additional donations recently to upgrade the building in many ways, including technology. Bent declined.

Id be surprised if the irs allowed a chaitable deduction for a valuation placed on a name.

This really illustrates the sometimes murky quid pro quo of major donations. It often comes with positions of authority, or provides some of value to the donor. Naming a building after the donor does that.

500k is a pittance for such a right, and was small even when Bent made it. His suit greatly diminishes him, and i believe any settlement should place a valuation on what having his name on the building was worth. To me, the guy should just go away

Charity is charity, and having strings attached just makes it distasteful if not invalidating any altruistic component.
