Oh Bobby G. You wailed and whined and complain about the shabby treatment your Pirates were given by not playing SJU in the Garden. Well, Seton Hall didn't do much to dispel the thought they deserved better treatment. Attendance was a sellout -- 5,602. Remember the days when sellouts were 6,008?

The win by the Red Storm snapped a five-game losing streak and pushed Seton Hall's losing streak to three games.

D. J. Kennedy scored 21 points, including going 4-of-4 from the line in the final 10 seconds to seal the victory.

Justin Burrell had 15 points -- 11 in the first half -- and 11 rebounds. It was his second double-double of the season.

Sean Evans had 10 points and 13 rebounds. It was his sixth double-double of the season.

Tomas Jasiulionis made his first start of the season on Senior Day. He had two points in five minutes.

Paris Horne was 3-of-13 from the field, 1-of-5 on threes, for nine points. In addition to Horne's poor shooting, Burrell was 5-of-15 -- 1-of-8 in the second half -- and Malik Boothe was 1-of-7. SJU was 8-of-28 in the second half.

Jeremy Hazell led Seton Hall with 22 points.

Before fouling out, John Garcia was 7-of-9 for 14 points with six rebounds and four blocks in 31 minutes.

St. John's closed the first half on an 11-0 run. Boothe had three points, two steals, two assists and two rebounds during the spurt.

The Red Storm grabbed 27 offensive rebounds, a season high. Seton Hall had 11 offensive rebounds. SJU outrebounded the Pirates, 49-31

SJU had only eight turnovers -- Boothe had four -- while the Pirates had 12, five by Eugene Harvey. SJU outscored Seton hall, 21-8, off turnovers.

Seton Hall made 8-of-12 three-pointers in the first half, just 1-of-4 in the second half.

The Pirates made just 8-of-16 free throws. SJU made 20-of-31 -- Evans was 2-of-7.

Norm's opening statement: "It was a pretty exciting game from beginning to end. Both teams battled each other hard. We did a better job the second half guarding. They made eight 3's in the first half and that got them going; but we did a great getting the ball inside doing what we do best getting to the offense of glass. D.J. [Kennedy] had a great night. He made some big shots for us. [Justin] Burrell played terrific. We knew that they could make tough shots, but we just stayed patient. We ran the played we needed to and we played strong. It was a great team effort."

And perhaps appealing to those fans who are detractors: "This a great place to play. It is named after a great Hall of Fame coach [Lou Carnesecca] and it should be an honor to play on this floor whenever you play here. The turn out of our fans is a great thing for our program. These student-athletes work extremely hard every day. They want to see the fruits of their labor too. Our fans were great today. They really helped us win the game tonight. They put tons of presser on Seton Hall and made it tough from them."
