Mercifully the final non-conference game of St. John's season is over, and perhaps the Red Storm won't be seeing Duke anytime soon — particularly in the NCAA Tournament (snicker, snicker, chortle, chortle). And while the final score will give false hope with just a handful of games remaining in the season, just remember this recent slide that looks to have St. John's finish with a losing record.

The Blue Devils have now beaten SJU six straight times and won 13 of the last 15 meetings. (I don't need to remind you of the two victories).

Duke had lost two straight and four of six. SJU has now lost five in a row. The Red Storm are also 1-6 against ranked teams.

Duke freshman Elliott Williams got his second start of the season and responded with a career-high 11 points on five-of-six shooting.

Gerald Henderson led the Blue Devils with 19 points.

Duke's starters scored 72 of the team's 76 points. Of course, Duke's bench only played 18 minutes.

D.J. Kennedy led the Red Storm with 20 points (7-of-10 shooting) and nine rebounds. It was the eighth time he led the team in scoring.

St. John's shot 54.0 percent (27-of-50), its second-best shooting night of the season. The 81.3 percent from the line was a season-high.

Malik Booth scored 10 points, his highest total in two months.

SJU had 18 turnovers, six by Boothe.

Sean Evans had 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting.

The Red Storm took just three three-pointers, hitting two.

Amazingly, Dele Coker played 10 minutes and did not commit a foul. Also amazingly, TyShawn Edmondson played eight minutes.

Justin Burrell had one point and one rebound in 13 minutes. Rob Thomas started in his place again.

Paris Horne was held to seven points in 20 minutes. He fouled out with more than eight minutes remaining. It was the fifth time this year he didn't reach double figures.

And we close with Norm's Norming reasons for the turnovers: "Youth and inexperience and trying to make something happen when it's not there."
